A Trip to Vittorazi Motors!

Last summer, I was given an incredible opportunity to visit the Vittorazi Motors factory where their newest innovation, the  Moster 185 EFI engine, would be announced. Needless to say, this was an invitation that I could not turn down! This impressive event was to be attended by some of the best flight schools and leading manufacturers in the world, and I am so grateful that the Kangook Paramotors team was selected to be in attendance! It was truly an honor to be representing our sister company, Kangook America, amongst the “who’s who” of paramotoring.

The attention to detail at this event and within the Vittorazi team was palpable. On the first full day of the engine unveiling, each brand in attendance was presented with a new EFI engine already installed on their respective paramotor frame. The Vittorazi team had meticulously gone through every installation, even going as far as to build a specific battery mounting plate for the  Kangook Amaruk XD we had provided for the event.

First impressions of the Vittorazi Moster 185 EFI!

Prior to the EFI event, Vittorazi went the extra mile to test fly all of the paramotors for several hours to ensure everything was working and performing up to their standards. With about 3 hours in the air per paramotor, I wouldn’t be surprised if they surpassed 40 hours of flight time just to ensure all of the paramotors were up to their standards. Their dedication was evident, impressive, and I give many kudos to them for taking on that task.

While the primary focus of this trip was on the new EFI engine, my experience with the Vittorazi team extended well beyond the event itself. Towards the end of my visit, the attendees were bussed out to see  Vittorazi Motors’ factory. Based out of the small town of Montecosaro, Italy, on the eastern side of the peninsula and bordering the Adriatic Sea, the Vittorazi factory location is perfect for flying year-round. The local climate is also warm enough and close enough to the shore to allow for flying any time of the day as well. With an airfield nearby, they have the ability to hone their craft by flight testing their products in real life conditions, just minutes from their home base!

Upon arrival at the Vittorazi factory, it was immediately noticeable how new the building is. After a quick group photo, we were escorted inside where we were given a tour of the factory which started in a small museum located on their second floor. The museum was essentially a chronological timeline detailing the company’s rich history and evolution.

Through a translator, Mrs. Orazi explained how Vittorazi’s early years focused on “minimotos” in the 1980’s. After finding success in the competitive “minimoto” scene, the company's owner, Vittoriano Oraz was bitten by the flying bug and his focus shifted to the paramotor engines we all love today! The museum housed a collection of all the previous models of Vittorazi engines starting with their original Easy 100 engine progressing to the Moster 185 Plus and Factory R of today. Looking at the time line of engines, you could see Vittorazi’s growth and progression in both quality and styling.

Inside the production facility, I was surprised at just how large it was. Everything was very well organized and clean, with bins of parts neatly arranged and color coded to aid in assembly. What impressed me the most was the level of concern given to quality control, particularly the CNC inspection machine used to inspect machine parts. This ultrasensitive device is used to inspect each Moster 185 Factory R engine case as well as a large sample set of the Moster 185 Plus engines. Every batch of critical parts are inspected to verify they are within tolerances.

Outside and behind the facility was an impressive test stand with telemetry to monitor every aspect of engine performance. This engine test stand allows Vittorazi to evaluate new products, make improvements to existing products, and even conduct more mundane tests like analyzing new propellers for approval. They also had pre-programmed run profiles to test the Factory R and the new Moster 185 EFI performance before shipping.

In retrospect, the trip was nothing short of extraordinary. From soaring over the Italian countryside to meeting the elites of the paramotor scene, it was truly an unforgettable experience. Above all, I was absolutely blown away by the ingenuity, focus, and quality driven goals of Vittorazi Motors! Vittorazi has left their mark on the paramotor world with their innovation, precision, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
